Just a quick update. . . .

Oy, this month is just zoomin by!! Joseph is ready to open, and definately ready for an audience! The poor production staff just has seen it way too many times! Work is the same, crazy. . and the fact I no longer have a desk to work at really makes me giggle. . .hence my working from home so often. Its not too bad, but I get so easily distracted at home (ummm, Tetris, cable, etc!) but, things are progressing nicely, still no idea where I will be working next month, but I will deal with that as the date comes up.

On the apartment front, well Mike and I have decided to go for the Bennington in Crystal City:

What a long url! Anyway, its the two bedroom layout. Not too shabby! 2 Baths! Washer and Dryer!! Who could ask for more!? We will be moving in as of November 9th and will be having a housewarming/Christmas party. . details on that next month!

Eric and I are still struggling to find time to get together, but after this week, that should be much easier! Poor guy has been slammed at work, working crazy long hours and with me in tech rehearsals. .there just isn't enough hours in the day!!

And I will leave with a silly Mark story. . . .

So, I was running late this morning, and dashed off to the metro with my travel coffee mug in hand. As per usual, I made sure I closed the top before I got on, but didn't notice the pool of coffee collected in the lip of my cup. So I am standing, as per usual, and a group of people were trying to get onto the train. So, I tried to make more room by backing up further into the middle, what I didn't notice was the large suitcase right behind me in the aisle, so I got caught up in that, and ended up spashing this dude sitting next to me. Not badly mind you, but still. . .so annoying. He turned and just glared out me (not that i blamed him) and I kept saying, dude I am so sorry. Oh well, it happens. . .Dude, where ever you are. . .sorry!!

Drunken Ramblings

Huh, so, I go out tonight. ..to Freddies. .. .lookin like shit, having just come from rehearsal, and I am popular. I mean, people talk to me, share jokes with me, and so 0n. What is up with that!? Normally, I am a fly on the wall, ok a fly that some people talk to, but only those regulars that recognize my voice, not me. So, I start to think. . ..huh, when I like someone, I am popular, when I am single and sad, not so much. . .huh, so THATS how it works. I need to find someone, then people will show interest.. .REALLY!? I mean is that how it works?! I'm not "taken" or "betrothed" currently, but yeah, I met someone who I would like to make a go at something with. And NOW I am popular, I am viable!? Is it a scent that people just lap up? Is it my stance, my. . ."Yeah, I have someone, but I LOVE meeting new people" attitude. . I just can't put my head around it. I have been going to Freddies for years, years and years, and aside from my love Kimmer, I don't get recognized very often. People just don't remember me. Yeah, I'm shy, yeah, I tend to slink back in a corner when I am alone and don't recongnize people, but. . .what the!? I just don't get why, when I find someone I COULD date, I suddenly find myself the focal point of other singles. Is it sudden confidence? Is it the scent of stealing someone's man, or is it just me. . with an edge, with a sudden feeling of who gives a shit what you think . ..attidtude that attracts people!?

Who knows. Does it work, no. . .i don't care to stray currently. I want to make a real go at it. But still, why is it that when I am so lonely, and horney that I can't get someone to even look at me, but when I have a potential, that's when the free drinks, the shots, the winks come into play!? Makes one stop and think. Makes one really reflect on the environment that I walk in.

And done, yes. . .drunken Mark has spoken, and it is sad, and repetative, but. . meh,. . who cares, I speak my mind and fuck the consequences.

Happy Columbus Day!!

What a weekend! Got to see some of my friends shine in their show, Pirates of Penzance at TAP. Its a good production, and can I just say Chris Thorn and Rene Moyer are just amazing! Cool set, mostly cool staging. I am not a big fan of the show, but I found myself giggling at some parts (ok, one of the parts was purely accidental when one of the actor's sword broke and flew off into the back of the stage. . hahahahahaaha!), but the final scenes of Act 2 really made it worth seeing. So silly! I always get a warm feeling inside when I see my friends up on stage, especially to see my beautiful friends Kristen and Amanda dressed as woman and lookin hawt!!

Saturday I actually had a date, a DATE! It was glorious! We got together at his place, I brought flowers and wine, and he made me a delicious dinner. We sat and chatted for a few hours and he decided he wanted to go out for a drink. Having just heard from the crew that they were at a bar in Arlington, I asked if would be up for that. He responded with an exuberant YES! I had shown him pics of Amsterdam and Rome, and he was excited to meet my friends in person. So, off we went for ONE drink, I order us up some margarittas, and good lord, was delivered two enormous glasses! More like 3 drinks in one!! So we hung out and after finishing our drinks, headed back to my place.

Sunday, brunch at Freddies. I was impressed with the assortment of food. Normally $15.00, but I had won free brunch for two, so we got away with simply tipping. . hooray! They had everything from huge waffles, made to order omlettes, eggs benedict, steak, chicken, pork, kabobs, salad, soup, fruit, and free mimosa to boot! (just one comes free but. . still). Then rehearsal. . .and sheesh am I sore. I can not get over the fact we ran the entire show, and it ran about an hour. . .ONE hour! LOL! That's not including transitions in and out of scenes, but what a short little show! Hooray!

Can't wait for pay day, pay some bills and actually have spending money again! I am trying, (its about time, I know), to formulate a budget to get myself back on track with bills and stuff, and still give myself enough spending money to not whine about being broke, or forcing myself into exile because of funds. We'll see how that goes. Peace!

European Vacation!!

Well, I am back and back into the swing of things since my European vacation. God, what a good time. Perfect vacation, perfect group of friends! I had every intention of breaking it down, day by day, but now I just feel like a synopsis will do. :-)

traveling is hard on your own. The flights over were long and boring, but that interior hamster wheel was turning so fast, the time flew by. I had such an adrenalin rush on my way over, I hardly slept. Upon my arrival in dear Amsterdam, I found that my surprise was much needed, as my friends had a bit of bad luck to begin our time in Amsterdam, no luggage :( I arrived at the hostel to find Sam and Laura checking their email (and the status of their bags), not the exact place I wanted to walk up to Laura and say "Surprise! The Candy Man has arrived!!" but, it worked out. We did many walking tours of the city, seeing as much as we could fit into the 2 days we had their. Amsterdam is an amazingly beautiful city. Beautiful people, so friendly and welcoming, and yes, weed around every corner!! I tried not to over do it though, I mean I wasn't there to just sit around and get high the whole time, I think I did a good job of maintaining a certain amount of decorum. The Anne Frank Museum was humbling, to say the least, and I got to see a real Windmill up close and personal, hooray! We won't mention the paddle boat incident, yes there was an incident, and under different circumstances, it would have been a delightful way to see the city.

From Amsterdam we traveled to Rome, via Brussels. What can I say about Rome!? Gorgeous men, awe inspiring sites, good food. . .So wonderful. We did our best to get around and see the major sites. Our incredible tour guide Sam got us from one site to the other effortlessly. I was so ecstatic to have someone who was so good at reading maps, thank you Sam!!! The coliseum, the Pantheon, the Forum, Vatican City. . .So many other sites that we saw I just can't even begin to list them all. It was incredible. We even visited a Roman Gay bar, where I went on to enact a quite steamy scene from Queer as Folk in the very dark back room of The Hanger with a guy I met from New York! And came pretty close to having an audience for the occastion! Mark got his GROOVE back!! Hooray! After 4 months of celibacy, it was a much need release! (yeah, pun intended).

Now that I am back, I have a much more positive outlook on things. I have incredible friends who I have shared this awesome experience with. I couldn't think of a better group of people to travel with. Yeah, of course there were some obstacles, aren't there always? But, I would jump on a plane with any and all of them at a moments notice. Sam, Katie, Cathy, John and Laura, thank from the bottom of my heart. I couldn't think of a better group to share my first international trip with, I will never forget this trip nor the incredible amount of laughter and camaraderie that I felt with you all. It brings a tear to my eye to know how blessed I am with the friends that I have right now, not only my traveling buddies, but all of you.
